The role of the older Brimsley is played by Hugh Sachs. Before she was Violet Bridgerton, the optimistic teen was Violet Ledger who was curious, close to her father and unknowing of the way high society was set up. Later, Charlotte slyly sidesteps George's quack doctors and his controlling mother (Michelle Fairley) to work out a relationship with this shy man she loves. The series is framed by scenes of the mature Queen Charlotte (the indelibly imperious Golda Rosheuvel) facing royal pressure to marry off at least one of her 13 children to produce an heir.
“Queen Charlotte” dives into the backstory of the Regency-era monarch and her ascent to the throne. At the center of the historical drama is the love story between the ruler and King George III. Fans will get to see their instant chemistry develop after an unexpected meet-cute in the palace garden.
